BEST OF 2025

Anyone who knows me knows that I love comic books. The artistic liberty allowed with larger-than-life characters and infinite possibilities is limitless. 2025 allowed for incredible artistic liberty and expression with Marvel’s Ultimate Universe and DC’s Absolute series. Now, I definitely think one ended up being better than the other, but one that REALLY stood out among the rest is DC’s Absolute Martianmanhunter.

To start off, easily conveyed by the cover, is the insane artwork by Javier Rodriguez. It’s not just style, though, as the artwork helps convey the abstract concepts and alien lifeforms taking over people’s minds. Murder and mystery are the subjects of this book, but it is complimented with the help of an alien that has invaded the mind of John Jones.

It’s mysterious, horrific, psychological, and beautiful all wrapped into one package.
